Owen’s final waterpolo with Carlsbad

Owen Last Water Polo 

Another chapter closes for Owen.   Seven years playing with the Carlsbad Water Polo Club.   James (the guy jumping in the pool in one of the photos) founded and runs the club as well as coaches the 18s but will often help out with the other age groups.  Truly, thankful for this program he has created as it has not only created so many friends for both Owen and our family but the lessons learned and the physical discipline developed throughout the years has been invaluable and has helped shaped Owen into the young man he has become.     Right now, Owen isn’t planning on playing club at Cal Poly so perhaps these are the last true games we watched Owen play. 

And for me… I am bummed because I finally started to understand the penalty calls : ) 

Spring Break 2023

Spring Break in Kauai 2023.  We stayed in Princeville - with an amazing view from the condo we rented.  There was plenty of rain but with the rain came the rainbows.   The rain never really ruined anything - just added to the Kauai vibe.    Kim struggled all week with a lingering cold and then Tess came down with a nasty congestion and migraine, it happened at the end of the trip (Thursday) and it was the day we were supposed to go to Nepali.  The boys and I went - it was an awesome experience with an amazing views and even an encounter with a mother humpback and her calf.     With Owen heading off to college next year, his is probably the last spring break (at least for awhile until schedules line up).  

Hope to get back to Kauai and to take the same boat trip again so Tess can experience it.

Finn’s Jog-a-thon

This was our first time back at a school function since COVID.  It definitely brought a tear to my eye.   Grateful to be able to be part of this, sad that this is our last jog-a-thon at AOE… we had gone to so many throughout the years with the other two.   Can’t believe Finn is moving on soon to middle school and we will no longer have elementary aged kids. 

First Trip Back East - since COVID -

Just Finn and I got to go.  And only for a few days but we got to see great Grandmom (Mom Mom) as well Dee Dee and the Uncle Rob, Aunt Kathy and the cousins and the Glavin’s down at Avalon.

Some interesting times for sure.  Scary but you find the silver linings... One being.... the chance to spend more time with the family and doing home school projects like these.
